MAPU

Mapu, a spiritual leader, chief, and prominent musician of the Huni Kuin people, was born in the Indigenous Territory of Kaxinawá Ashaninka do Rio Breu. From a young age, he was chosen by his grandfather to follow the spiritual path, and today he serves as a political and spiritual representative of his people, having founded the Huwã Karu Yuxibu Center.

Mapu is nationally and internationally recognized for his work in preserving the Huni Kuin cultural identity, as well as advocating for environmental preservation and the rights of indigenous peoples. He is a renowned activist and a prominent figure in high-profile events.
