The Melba Foundation Presents: CARMELA & MISSY ALCAZAR VINYL RELEASE PARTY with Gabrielle Maiden
Both versatile & multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter's, CARMELA & MISSY ALCAZAR celebrate the release of their debut vinyl record albums. Joining them is the multi-talented actress, singer-songwriter and snowboarder GABRIELLE MAIDEN. Celebrate all of these Los Angeles based songwriters as they celebrate their original music and witness their first ever Hotel Cafe exclusive collaboration. 10% of all ticket proceeds will go towards 501c3 non-profit The Melba Foundation, a music scholarship program for underprivileged students who wish to pursue music.
Carmela is a genre-bending artist based in Los Angeles, CA. Influenced by rock, blues, soul, and folk, She puts her own unique stamp on the indie rock genre, creating music influenced by rock, blues, soul, and folk featuring her signature sultry, soulful voice and vintage-inspired instrumentation. She recently released her first full-length album, “New Stranger,” which she proudly labels as an “album all about growth and growing pains” in response to the honest nature of her lyricism. LadyGUNN Magazine says of Carmela: “Chances are you havenʼt heard this much personality in a vocal in a long time.”
Missy Alcazar is a Los Angeles born and raised Filipino-American professional dueling pianist, independent singer-songwriter & multi-instrumentalist. Being a dueling pianist has given her a knack for vocal versatility while her former career as a concert pianist has given her unparalleled pianistic style. Missy holds the title of being the first resident female dueling pianist at Disneyland's "Showdown At The Golden Horseshoe." She’s had her songs placed on TV such as “90 Day Fiance” and was nominated for Best Singer Songwriter at the SDMA’s. She's very active in philanthropy and recently founded The Melba Foundation, a 501c3 non-profit organization that offers scholarships to underprivileged students that want to study music as their career.
Gabrielle Maiden is a multi-talented actor, singer-songwriter/ukelele player and snowboarder. She was born and raised in Los Angeles, and caught the acting bug when she was 5 years old. Before she put full focus on her acting career, she traveled the world as a professional snowboarder. She came to prominence as the first African American woman competitive snowboarder. Her original music can only be heard at live shows or online social media by the select loyal Gabby fans who know her from her role as "Mick" from "Stranger Things" popular Netflix series.
About The Hotel Cafe
From a close-knit family of local singer songwriters, to well known icons opting for a more intimate setting, the Hotel Cafe has been celebrating the live music experience for over 20 years.
With early career performances from names like Adele, Katy Perry, The Lumineers, Billie Eilish, Ed Sheeran, Sara Bareilles, Leon Bridges, Haim, Mumford and Sons, Lord Huron and many others, the venue has been labeled a break-out room for independent and burgeoning artists.
The venue itself is located in the Cahuenga Corridor in the center of Hollywood, CA.
