Ida began in Brooklyn in 1993 with Daniel Littleton and Elizabeth Mitchell making 4 track recordings in their apartment and sharing the tapes with their friends. Since then they have released several critically acclaimed and much loved indie classics including “I Know about You” (1996) released on legendary indie label Simple Machines and “Lovers Prayers” (2008) which was recorded at Levon Helm Studios in Woodstock. The band also collaborated with outsider folk icon Michael Hurley on the full length release “Ida Con Snock.” (2009)

In 2023 Ida is reuniting for two special concerts on each coast of the USA, with original drummer Miggy Littleton (White Magic, Blood On The Wall), original bassist and vocalist Karla Schickele (K, Beekeeper, Low), longtime violinist, vocalist and collaborator Jean Cook (The Mekons, The Beauty Pill), and multi- instrumentalist/singer-songwriter Storey Littleton (Mitchell and Littleton’s daughter). One concert will be part of the lineup of Numero 20, a two day event celebrating the twentieth anniversary of The Numero Group at The Palace Theater in Los Angeles, and one show at The Barn, LHS in Woodstock, NY.
